Gaelic Storm to Perform at DCA on Aug 15

World-renown Celtic band, Gaelic Storm, will perform at the Door Community Auditorium on Sunday, August 15, at 8:00 p.m.

If you’ve seen the movie, Titanic, then you’ve already seen Gaelic Storm. Cast as the “steerage band” in the legendary movie over ten years ago, Gaelic Storm has since made an international name for themselves in the music industry, having played to audiences numbering in the millions to date. Their unique Celtic sound, created by cultural instruments such as the bagpipes, Celtic drums, and the fiddle, as well as their electrifying concerts that offer unparalleled entertainment for all ages, make Gaelic Storm your perfect summer concert experience at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek, WI.

The band officially took form on St. Patrick’s Day, 1996, when Patrick Murphy and Steve Twigger performed at a local pub in Santa Monica, California. Since the band’s birth, they have acquired three additional artists: Ryan Lacey, Pete Purvis, and Jessie Burns, all from differing walks of life, but all with an innate passion for Celtic music. Gaelic Storm has since earned seven Billboard Chart-topping albums and many other credits to their reputations, including repeatedly headlining for the world’s largest Irish festival, Milwaukee Irish Fest.

The band’s newest album, Cabbage, released on August 3, debuted at an unbeatable #1 on the iTunes World Music Chart. Band member Steve Twigger recently told American Songwriter that the album’s first single, “Raised on Black and Tans,” “is a party song for anyone wanting to celebrate Paddy’s Day all year long.”

Gaelic Storm has consistently pushed the limits of Celtic and World music, and anyone who has seen them live will beg you not to miss this unique concert experience, as it is surely one you will not forget. Gaelic Storm will most assuredly get your hands clapping, your feet stomping, and your heart pounding.

Underwriting for this performance was generously given by the Goldammer Family Foundation.

Gaelic Storm is in concert at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, at Door Community Auditorium, 3926 State 42, Fish Creek. Tickets are $22-$35 and can be reserved by visiting the auditorium box office, calling the box office at 868-2728, or ordering online at http://www.dcauditorium.org/ .
