Wine of the Month

Sinister

Sinister

In the winter of 2012 a process began on paper to create a new red wine, we were essentially soul searching for a unique direction and inspirational red wine creation. It needed to be a serious red wine effort to help build our dry red wine portfolio, and that would be poured by the glass at our Bistro42 restaurant and be featured at winemaker dinners.

Having spicy and fresh herb aromas of black pepper, bay leaf, eucalyptus from the use of Cabernet Franc; a well-known grape used in complex French Bordeaux blends. We added our own signature by barrel aging in French Oak for 4 months. This judicious use of oak allows Sinister to retain its core fruity elements, derived from the Tempranillo and Merlot grapes, showing hints of Plum, Blackberry and Currant behind a strong French Oak component that builds on the mid-palette. Actually, the first sip of this wine invites another.

It is Sinister.
