CHERRY TIME ARRIVES IN DOOR COUNTY A BIT EARLY THIS YEAR

A bit early, but still abundant, the cherries are ripe and ready in Door County. According to Terry Sorenson, President of the Wisconsin Cherry Growers, mechanical tart cherry harvest has just started with sweet cherries 10 days or so into their harvest.

“The mild spring has everything bumped up a bit,” commented Sorenson. “And although we’ve had some loss because of a couple of cold snaps, there will still be plenty of fresh cherries available through the end of the month.”
