Peninsula Winery wins 2 new medals;
Double Gold for Cranberry Wine and Gold for Blackberry wine
Carlsville, WI -
Door Peninsula Winery has won two new medals for their
award-winning wines, including a Double Gold Medal for their Cranberry.
The inaugural Great American International Wine Competition
awarded Door Peninsula Winery's Cranberry wine with a Double Gold medal and
Blackberry wine with a Gold Medal.
The 1st annual Great American International Wine Competition
was held in late March with judging completed on March 20th. The
competition included 25 judges from 9 countries in various wine backgrounds
including Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, sommeliers, educators,
enologists, winemakers, retailers, importers and wine industry writers and
consultants. All proceeds from the Great American International Wine
Competition went to the Raise a Glass Foundation which supports worthy
charities focused on adults and children throughout the world. Submissions
this year directly supported InterVol, a humanitarian group that recovers
unused medical supplies and hospital equipment and ships them to countries
in urgent need of assistance.
Door Peninsula winery
has been a consistent winner of medals through the years
including at the Finger Lakes Competition, San Francisco International Wine
Competition, The East Meets West Wine Challenge and the Amenti
del Vino International Competition.
Door Peninsula Winery, established in 1974, is located on
