DOOR PENINSULA WINERY MAKES SIZABLE DONATION TO DOOR CANcer
STURGEON BAY – Door Peninsula Winery continued its
commitment to philanthropy by making a donation of $2,186 to DOOR CANcer earlier
this month at the annual Spring Fling event.
This
year’s Miss Door County’s Outstanding Teen Sophia Pollman, whose father and
grandparents own Door Peninsula Winery, presented the check at the event to
DOOR CANcer’s vice president Barb Herdina before a capacity crowd at Stone
Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay.
The money was raised as a result from the sales of the
winery’s Sweet Survivor wine – a special bottling of their flagship Sweet
Cherry wine. With every purchase, the winery sets aside $1 towards DOOR CANcer,
in their aim to help families who are struggling to cope with a relative
battling cancer.
Since the Sweet Survivor campaign was launched, the winery
has donated over $6,000 over the last four years, continuing the tradition of
Door Peninsula Winery giving back to organizations up and down the peninsula.
