Greetings!

We absolutely adore hosting weddings and other celebrations at both of our locations -- both our Green Bay and Baileys Harbor locations are terrific spots to plan your dream wedding or celebration!

Harbor Fish Market & Grille in Baileys Harbor is a Door County favorite spot to have a very special wedding/celebration. The gardens provide the perfect backdrop along with the wonderful waterfront location. The historic building has original hardwood floors, tin type ceiling and beautiful mahogany bar. We have hosted weddings ranging from a handful of guests to nearly 300 guests -- with creative buffet service or traditional sit down dinners. The grassy area close to the water's edge is an ideal place for the wedding ceremony.

Harbor Fish Market & Grille in Green Bay is located right on the water across from the university campus. The grassy area along with the lovely dock area right on the water provides the perfect backdrop for a special Green Bay wedding -- particularly when planned to include the exceptional sunset on the water. The Green Bay location has two separate dining rooms allowing for either a small, intimate wedding or one on a grander scale! The expansive bar area provides the perfect opportunity to gather with friends and family -- and the outside deck can be used for dining or appetizer service. We have hosted weddings and celebrations with guests numbering 10 to 180 -- with either elegant buffet or sit down dinner service.

We still have a few dates available at both locations for 2010 weddings and celebrations -- so please call us today to discuss how we can help you plan the celebration you have dreaming about.

Best wishes,

Different Drums of Ireland Takes
To DCA Mainstage, March 5

Different Drums of Ireland, a band composed of five musicians, was created in 1992 as a community relations project in Derry, Northern Ireland. Featuring the Lambeg and Bodhran drums, as well as the guitar, snares, long drum, pipes, and vocals, Different Drums of Ireland celebrates the musical traditions, customs, and sounds of that wee part of the world, crossing boundaries in an effort to promote peace and unity. The group makes its Door County premier appearance on the Door Community Auditorium Mainstage, Friday, March 5 at 8 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students under 18.

The music also features the Uilleann or elbow pipes, whistles, guitar, snares, long drum, four voices and is driven by the engine of the African djembe. Adding myriad percussion and other instruments to original and traditional songs makes a unique and exciting combination of traditions and sounds. A unique celebration of cultural diversity and linkages.

The band has played across the world, for everyone from US & Irish presidents to school children - The message is the same: Celebrate that which makes us different and that which bonds us together.

"...an amazing sensory experience, the vibrant drum playing is genuinely stunning but over the top we hear whistles and pipes playing flying melodies with gorgeous ballads and spoken word sections..." said one reviewer.

Band members are:

Roy Arbuckle
"Roy has a voice you could take a bath in" O.R.Melling - Irish Times
People with long memories will remember Roy from his early days with show bands and in the 70's with folk band Chaff. He moved to North America in 1978 and toured extensively with Fiddlers Elbow and later The Rambling Boys of Pleasure.

Roy conceived and founded Different Drums in 1991 as a community relations project and has led its development since.

Stephen Matier
Stephen is one of the earliest members of Different Drums and has been involved in music for most of his life. He is a native of East Belfast and has lived in Belfast for the last 10 years after spending time in England and Derry. He began playing music as a schoolboy in a variety of rock bands, most notably the band that went on to be known as "Ghost of an American Airman" He then found the blues with Noella Hutton. Once involved in Different Drums he has been exploring the roots of Irish and world music and has interests in Middle Eastern and American roots music.

Coffeehouse Series Continues at DCA: Highland Road Music! Feb 20th

Bluegrass with Highland Road Feb. 20
At DCA Fireside Coffeehouse

Highland Road performs bluegrass in the truest tradition of Scottish, Irish, and English immigrants who inspired the musical storytelling genre. Taking the stage in the next Door Community Auditorium Fireside Coffeehouse Concert of the winter season, Highland Road band members Andy Coulson, Tad Gilster, Rick Gordon, and Tony Gebauer will perform on Saturday, February 20 at 7 pm. Their program will include bluegrass, a bit of country, and a smattering of folk music.

This marks the second appearance of the group in the Coffeehouse series, having sold out the 80 seat venue last February.

The history of Highland Road begins just down the road a bit. Although founding members Coulson and Gilster both began playing music during their high school years, they had set their guitars aside to begin careers.

“We both played in high school,” said Coulson, “but I set my instrument aside for at least 20 years.” Coulson is the owner of the White Gull Inn; Gilster is a realtor with Coldwell Banker and an avocational potter.

But in the mid-90s the two friends began a weekly ritual of playing together. “We were talking about music one day and we discovered we had each picked up our guitars again. It just happened that we decided to have some fun picking together,” recalled Gilster. The banjo became Coulson’s instrument of choice in the late 90s.

An approaching birthday spurred Rick Gordon, owner of Door County Computer, to join the music-makers. “I had wanted to learn to play the guitar, and when I was turned 65 and I decided if I was ever going to play, I had better get to it. At first I would just sit with my bass and listen. I would practice at home.” Gordon admits, “It was slow going, a trail of tears, but they really inspired me.” With a guitarist in the group, Gordon assumed bass duties.

Tony Gebauer was the final addition to the informal band. “I knew the guys were playing together and I wanted to join in. I wanted to play something and figured a nice addition would be the mandolin to round things out,” said Gebauer. “So I bought an inexpensive old mandolin and a beginner book with traditional bluegrass tunes.” Within months the novice was performing with the group. Gebauer is a full-time potter whose studio is TR Pottery.

Playing together for the first time “outside,” the group performed a benefit concert for the Door County Land Trust in 2007. “With that concert we realized we were a band. After that we got more serious,” Coulson smiled.

“All of us are very busy; we realize this is not our main job. But we do work at improving, taking it to the next level. Bluegrass really is an ensemble type of music, and doesn’t come together unless it’s performed by a group. And as friends and fellow musicians we have a great time together and strive to improve.”

Seating for the Fireside Coffeehouse Concerts is limited and advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. General admission tickets are $14 plus tax and facility fee, Tickets are available at the Door Community Auditorium box office, by phone (920.868.2728), or via the internet at www.dcauditorium.org. Box office hours are Monday and Friday, 10 – 3 pm; weekend show days, 11 – 3 pm; and one hour prior to a performance. The Door Community Auditorium is located in Fish Creek, just north of the town center on Highway 42. Refreshments will be available for purchase during this performance.
